Mockery of Democracy.

The Mangalore Pub attack has created huge chaos and as always attracted so much media attention. I wonder why there are so many people to say something about the attacks but we still wake up everyday and lead our lives, the difference between the men who attacked the women is.. they woke up one fine day, realized Pub culture is wrong all of a sudden and They did what they did and we all blog about it and get on with our lives. We are lacking ACTION. We're not heading in the right direction as citizens or as human beings. We need to get out of our seats and protest!

If someone does something bad to someone else and we don't react to it, it will be done to us next. It happened in Mangalore, no one except the media is bothered about it; it will happen in Bangalore one fine day. Guess what will happen the next day!

Mr. Yedi will bring in a new law, all pubs in Karnataka will be closed.

Times of India publish about this for the next 5 days will a lot of views of people.

Pubs will eventually open but with very lil support and extremely less occupancy!

That's where we are headed!

Well, it's not about writing anna. I want to see some action. We cannot keep ranting about it and end there.. I'd love to see some action.. be it from the cops, the judiciary system or NHRC or some common stupid man like Nasruddin Shah in Wednesday..

Bureaucracy is the word that explains most here, i got little opportunity to understand the situation, but from what i know... you see clearly its not the people, its the system that's corrupt. These actions add in to many others that push INDIA behind than taking forward. The people of this nation have trusted the republic government to take action and bring law and order to the state of affairs. but when they don't see action they need to demand for it.

It's a lot more than bureaucracy bro.. will tell you sometime!

Its correct that we dont do anything much from our end, just ranting about the same old issues. But,compared to prev generation the current young gen is much more aware of world and its moral philosophies.

@Auvese Pasha
Dont agree there with u mate, calling the system corrupt is not right.People make this so called system. We need to wake up and choose right people for this system. But,agreed that these things push india backwards in growth graph.

While you have a point Rach, I'd like to be a progressive thinker. I don't want to compare ourselves with stone age! :)

Like Bob Marley said.. Get up.. stand up.. stand up for your lives! (that's more my style)

Comparing is good. Why do you think we read history?Dont you think by the end of the day,we want to learn something there?Else will be pointless.Progressive word itself says that a path you left behind.ahem..comparing to whom?

hmmm... We learn history to learn something good AND also learn from others' mistakes. When is comes to developing ourselves as good human beings or let's say responsible citizens we can take other examples from History itself.. SC Bose, MK Gandhi, Nehru ji to name a few.

These men not only wrote something, they also ACTED!! What am saying right now is that, it's shouldn't end with mere writing, words eventually need to turn into actions.. If not today, someday it should.. I trust it will.

Agreement to someones thoughts will not make any difference, coz we have people who think alike and they are the reason we writing this.

We cant break them if we have our own conflicts and my comments are specific to this issue. please don't mistake them for the overall system.

it was such a shameful act...but jus imagine if the media didnt react to this ...would v ever know abt it...? and we can react to situtions in which we r a part of it...or atleast hav some idea of what is happening...
i personally feel the system is much more alert today...and the rest depends on individuals...!
